He went toSaint Theresa’s School, Kumbo (1981-1988), for Primary Education; then to Saint Augustine’s College, Nso(1989-1996), for Secondary and High School. In 1997, he was in the Saint John Mary Vianney Spiritual Centre, Bafut, for the Spiritual Year. Thereafter, from 1998, he continued with Seminary formation in the Saint Thomas Aquinas’ Major Seminary, Bambui, for three years of philosophical studies and four years of theological studies. Before the aforementioned theological studies, he did his Pastoral Year in the Minor Seminary of Guider, Garoua. From 2014 to 2019, he furthered studies in the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, where he obtained a Doctorate in Spirituality.

Since his ordination on the 1st of April 2005, Fr. Evans Shang has served in several capacities. His pastoral assignments include the following: • Curate and Manager of Schools in Saint John’s Quasi-Parish, Misaje (2005-2006) • Fidei donum Priest to the Diocese of Yagoua (2006-2007) • Curate and Manager of Schools in Saint John the Baptist Parish, Elak (2007-2010) • Principal and Teacher in Saint Peter’s College, Kumbo (2010-2014) • Assistant Parish Priest in the Immaculate Conception Parish, Tobin (2010-2014) • Vocations’ Director, Diocese of Kumbo (2012-2014) • Rector, Saint Aloysius’ Minor Seminary, Kitiwum(2019-2021) • Vocations’ Director, Diocese of Kumbo (2020-2021) • Spiritual Director, Saint Thomas Aquinas’ Major Seminary, Bambui (2021- )
